How it works
Where players start, groups, how each of the four electrician jobs runs, blackouts and challenges.
Where players start
Players go to the Electrical Center blip and target the worker. The options there are:
- Electrical Center opens the job menu.
- View Group opens the group manager.
- Swap Uniform puts on the work uniform (when
clothing_enabledis on). - Cancel Job ends the current job and removes the truck. It shows while a job is running.
The job menu has five pages:
| Page | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Overview | Today's money, XP and jobs, and the daily reward |
| Progress | Your level, its bonuses and what the next levels unlock |
| Jobs | The four jobs with their level, group size and pay. Start a job here |
| Challenges | Goals such as fixing 10 panels. Start one at a time and claim its cash and XP when it is done |
| Leaderboards | Most experience and most completed challenges |
Groups
Installation Crew, Field Repair Technician and City Infrastructure Repair take up to two players. Open View Group, create a group and invite a nearby worker. Only the group leader can start a job. Everyone in the group gets the truck keys when group_keys is on, and the pay is split when split_pay is on.
If you start a job without a group, one is made for you.
The jobs
Every job keeps going until you cancel it: when you finish a panel or a site, the next one is marked. Pay is cash, plus XP, and every repair can turn up plastic or copper.
Maintenance Technician (level 1)
- Start the job on Jobs. A broken fuse panel in the Electrical Center yard is outlined.
- Target it, choose Repair and solve the connect-the-dots puzzle before the time runs out.
- You are paid for the panel and the next one is outlined. If you fail, you get an electric shock and can try again.
Installation Crew (level 3)
- Start the job. A work truck spawns at the Electrical Center and the work site is marked.
- Drive the truck to the site.
- At the back of the truck, choose Retrieve Unit and carry the unit to its marked spot.
- Choose Install Unit and pass the skill check.
- When every unit at the site is installed, the group is paid and the next site is marked.
Field Repair Technician (level 7)
- Start the job. A work truck spawns and the work site is marked.
- Drive the truck to the site and choose Get Toolbox at the back of the truck.
- Find the broken units, choose Repair and pass the skill check on each one.
- When every unit at the site is fixed, the group is paid and the next site is marked. Return Toolbox at the truck puts it away.
City Infrastructure Repair (level 10)
- Start the job. A work truck spawns and a traffic signal box somewhere in the city is marked.
- Drive there. The traffic lights around the box are out of order until it is fixed.
- Choose Repair on the box and pass the switch minigame.
- You are paid and the next box is marked.
Installation Crew, Field Repair Technician and City Infrastructure Repair need the work truck at the site. If it is not there, you see "Bring vehicle to work site."
Blackouts
Once or twice per server restart, after 60 to 300 minutes, the city loses power and every player sees "Power outage detected. Repair boxes at the Los Santos Electrical Center for bonus pay." The lights stay out until Maintenance Technicians repair 10 to 20 fuse panels in the yard, or 10 to 20 minutes pass. Each panel repaired during a blackout pays an extra $25 to $35 and 35 to 50 XP.
Progress and rewards
- Every panel, site and box gives XP. Higher levels add a money and XP bonus to job pay.
- After five jobs in a day, claim the daily reward on Overview: $1,000, 1,250 XP and a stack of plastic, glass or copper.
- Start a challenge on Challenges. When you reach its goal, complete it there for its cash and XP.
The job has no commands.
